An EV companion app designed to help users manage charging, vehicle performance, maintenance, and energy insights. This case study documents the thinking, visual decisions, and interaction direction behind the concept.

02/Problem

Start with the friction, not the feature list.

EV ownership brings a new layer of invisible decisions. Drivers need confidence about charge, range, and vehicle health without interpreting a wall of data.

03/Research / Insights

A working lens for the design.

I treated the home screen as a confidence surface: surface the answer to ‘can I go?’ first, then make deeper energy and maintenance detail available when it is useful.

Make the next action feel obvious.

The primary journey is intentionally compact, giving the product a clear rhythm from first intent to a useful outcome.

Structure before surface.

The wireframe pass explored a calm dashboard hierarchy: a single primary state, supporting context, and shortcuts that map to common ownership rituals.

A visual language with a job to do.

A dark UI with a high-visibility lime signal gives charging states a clear visual language. Monospaced labels and modular tiles make live data feel deliberate, not noisy.

The final UI balances a technical subject with a reassuring rhythm — bold state, quiet detail, and a clear path into charging.

Give the idea a pulse.

The prototype focuses on the transition from ‘I need to charge’ to ‘I know what is happening’, with feedback at each step.
